Volunteer Bakers

M. E. Lazerte High School’s Culinary Arts Program under Chef Andrew Hess has stepped up as the kitchen of record for Bake A Batch. To get all the goodies baked, we have 10 enthusiastic volunteers going to M. E. Lazerte to bake with Andrew in the school’s kitchen. We will be posting photos of the day, and delivering the treats to Wings of Providence soon after.

In 2017, we plan to have a larger scale baking production where our hope is that bakers can bring their own recipes, bake together, and create a personal touch for Wings. We will also have another bake sale (maybe 2 locations if the turnout is as good in 2017 as it was last year), so dear faithful volunteers, please stay tuned and in touch. We look forward to all your treats again next year!

(Why the change?  After discussions with Alberta Health Services, we learned that we can no longer accept donations of home-baked goods due to food safety issues. We can, however, continue to accept donations of baking made in AHS-approved kitchens. Last year we had several catering companies and schools participate, all of whom qualify.)

Bake Sale Volunteers

Due to the change in format this year, we want to get all the kinks worked out and will return to a bake sale format next year. We will invite you all again to partcipate in 2017 with your delicious and amazing home baked goods to raise money for WINGS – it will be much better organized.

Toy and Gift Drive Volunteers

Our Toy and Gift Drive is on December 17, 2016 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Folks can drop off at M. E. Lazerte High School and we will have a team shuttling the gifts over to Wings. Please click here for more information and the wish list. We will need a few volunteers to help us man the tables, accept donations, and drive them to a central location so they can be delivered to WINGS.
